About

Piles and piles of manuscripts. All the lyrics I could muster scotch taped across my old white piano. Big, bold, black letters. Empty juice bottles and coffee mugs strewn about the house. Laundry piled up in every corner imaginable.

This was the beginning of a project I call Go Easy Little Doves.

After traveling to countless cities, I found a little space of time to gather very old melodies and compositions that I’ve written and collected over the past 10 years of my life. Mixed with some new songs and a fresh approach I constructed a disc of musical recordings full of romance and Q&A.

The making of this began when seasons shifted and a chilly December set in: upon the eve of a proposal. The project followed me through the chaos, the bliss, and the madness of being engaged to another. It stood beside me at the altar. Held my hand with the one I love. Ran in stride when I said farewell. Remained nearby while traveling abroad. And kept me close while I’ve learned what it means to no longer be on my own, but to be married.

The aforementioned adventures equal the plot.

Bizarre and beautiful how the topics of these songs perfectly coincided with my personal story – completely unplanned; the way things should be.

And in closing I must confess:

I thought for a moment how to word all of this wisely.

The mere fact that I thought it proves I am not, in fact, wise.

Apologies.
